WAYNESFIELD, Ohio (5/7/16) – Waynesfield Raceway Park in Waynesfield, Ohio opened the gates for the second time of the 2016 season to showcase the grassroots of local dirt track racing.  The event titled, “Blue Collar Showcase” highlighted the drivers of the Performance Powder Coating AMSA Mini Sprints, Quest Federal Credit Union UMP Modifieds, Block Insurance Tough Trucks, and the Indian Lake Outfitter Compacts.

In the Performance Powder Coating AMSA Mini Sprints, Rod Henning set a new track record with a time of 13.215.  Ty Tilton in the 42 and Kobe Allison in the 22A picked up the heat race victories.  Henning came away with the A-main win, Allison coming home in second and Tilton taking third.

A great field of Quest Federal Credit Union UMP Modifieds were on hand for their chance to walk home with a $1000 payday.  Josh Scott, driver of the 11JS, also set a new track record with a time of 14.011.  The previous record was set by Todd Sherman last season with a time of 14.142.  Brian Post, Zach Schroeder, and Brandon Vaughan picked up the heat race wins.  Schroeder walked away with the $1000 A-main victory.  Jeff Koz came home second with Brian Post coming home third.

The Block Insurance Tough Trucks took the track with a strong field of 18 trucks signing in.  Chris Anderson and Mike Hicks picked up the heat race wins.  Brother Chris Hicks picked up the A-main with Gabe Twining and Mike Hicks coming in second and third respectively.

The Indian Lake Outfitter Compacts rounded out the night of racing.  Robbie Tuttle and James Sorrell picked up the heat race wins.  In feature action, David Yoder returned for the first time in 2016 to pick up the A-main victory.  Nick Glasgow came home second with Andru Troyer coming home third.

Waynesfield Raceway Park is back in action next Saturday night with the return of the USAC Midwest Thunder Midgets.  Drivers of the Performance Powder Coating AMSA Mini Sprints will take the wings off to go head-to-head with drivers of the touring series.  The Satellite Connections Non Wing Sprint Cars, Quest Federal Credit Union UMP Modifieds, Block Insurance Tough Trucks, and Indian Lake Outfitter Compacts will also be in attendance.  Pit side gates swing open at 4PM; grandstands at 5PM.  Drivers hit the track for hot laps at 6PM with racing following at 7PM.  Get the latest Waynesfield Raceway Park news and information online at www.waynesfieldracewaypark.net, on Facebook, and by following @OfficialWRP on Twitter.
