Rich and Shelly Farmer Take Over WRP Operations for 2025

Effective for the 2025 racing season, Rich and Shelly Farmer will be taking over the operation of Waynesfield Raceway Park in Waynesfield, Ohio.

The Farmers, who recently were rewarded as the 2024 Region Three Auto Racing Promoters of the year, are also the promoters of Fremont Speedway in Fremont, Ohio, and Rich Farmer has taken over the lead of the All Star Circuit of Champions in 2025.

Rich Farmer said Waynesfield will be racing as a “special events facility” with a schedule that will be released in the next couple of weeks. He noted race teams and fans have always rated the quarter-mile track as one of the most exciting bullrings in the region. Some drivers have compared “The Field” to jet fighters in a gymnasium with laps around the quarter-mile at 10 seconds or less.

“Shelly and I are honored to get the opportunity to keep racing alive at Waynesfield,” said Rich Farmer.

Farmer said plans are to feature a rotating premier division while having support classes “what will become home at the field.”

Long-time race promoter Larry Boos managed Waynesfield Raceway Park the past two seasons, stepping back in 2025.

“Over the past two seasons, our team made great strides at Waynesfield Raceway Park in race quality and facility improvements. I was deeply concerned about the future of the track when I announced my retirement from 50-plus years of racing promotion. I now feel much better knowing Rich and Shelly are stepping up to see the “field of speed” continues to be operative. Their viatlity, enthusiasm, and professionalism will ensure great things happen now and in the future,” said Boos.

The rejuvenated All Star Circuit of Champions have two events planned at Waynesfield in 2025 – Thursday, June 19 as part of Ohio Sprint Speedweek, and Saturday, August 23 for Salute to the Nickles Brothers.
